Principal & Senior Financial Advisor

Harvey joined Shufro Rose in 2001 and was named a Principal in 2003. He leads the Wacht Group.

Harvey graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Baruch College of the City University of New York, and worked at the accounting firm of Oppenheim, Appel, Dixon & Co., where he became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Prior to joining Shufro Rose, Harvey was Senior Vice President and Director of Private Client Services at Herzog, Heine, Geduld Inc. He also managed investment portfolios for Herzog’s retirement plans, served on the firm’s Executive Committee and had held the position of Chief Financial Officer. In addition, he held positions as Treasurer of Mutual Shares Corp. (now part of Franklin Templeton) and its registered investment adviser, Heine Securities Corp.

Harvey is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Harvey has been a member of the Sales and Marketing Division of the Securities Industry Association (SIA), the Wall Street Tax Association, and the New York Stock Exchange Sales and Marketing Committee. He serves as a mentor at Baruch College and is a member of Baruch’s Executives on Campus program.

Harvey lives in Purchase, New York; he has two adult children and two grandchildren.
